DUI Driving Man Crashes into IHOP Sign

Robert Assad, 28, was cited for DUI Drink Driving and Dangerous Driving after crashing at speed into an IHOP restaurant on Monday, Coloradoan reports.

The man was traveling eastbound when he veered off the road and collided with the restaurant sign at 8:21 p.m.

Police reports show that he suffered minor injuries but caused “major damage” to both the IHOP’s sign and the vehicle.

Assad was tested for impairment and cited for DUI Drink Driving and Dangerous Driving. However, he was not taken into custody for medical treatment.

Assad awaits sentence.

A penalty unit in Queensland is currently worth $113.85.
In addition to the above penalties, anyone who pleads or is found guilty in the Magistrates Court must pay the Offender Levy, which is presently worth $110.90.
