When questioned on why she drove away, Lamoreaux said that she planned to pay for the damage and insisted that her dog should be arrested instead. Police noted that she smelled of alcohol and appeared confused so they asked her to take a sobriety test but she refused.

The woman then became hostile when officers attempted to arrest her and she resisted when handcuffed.

Lamoreaux was charged with DUI Drink Driving, hit and run involving property damage and resisting arrest. On $2,500 bail she was later released pending a court date.
