A 35 year-old man was arrested on Monday after crashing into a vehicle stopped at a red light in Oakbrook Terrace following a high speed Evade Police chase.
ABC7 reports that officers observed a blue pickup that ran a red light. Police attempted to pull over the vehicle but the driver did not comply.
Officials report that the suspect tried to run over one of their officers who fired at the vehicle. The driver crashed the blue pickup truck into a stopped vehicle at a red light.
The suspect got out of the truck with his hands up and was surrounded by local police.
Police reports that the Dangerous Driving man has a long criminal history and was with a domestic abuse warrant.
The suspect remains in custody while police determine the charges to be filed.

A penalty unit in Queensland is currently worth $113.85.
In addition to the above penalties, anyone who pleads or is found guilty in the Magistrates Court must pay the Offender Levy, which is presently worth $110.90.
Magistrates have a general power to impose up to a lifetime driver’s licence disqualification, above and beyond any legislated disqualification ranges.
